WSD enjoyed five fun-filled days of Teacher Appreciation events this spring! During the week of May 6 – 10, parent volunteers worked with administrators to create special days that expressed appreciation from students, parents, and staff. Monday’s Flower Bar kicked off the week and ensured that every teacher in the building received a flower or bouquet. Tuesday followed up with local catering company DeeLicious Park City, who provided an absolutely dee-licious breakfast! On Wednesday morning, teachers arrived to find their classroom doors decorated with creative and caring messages by a team of creative and caring parent volunteers. Blanquita’s Food Truck underscored Thursday’s theme for the day, “Let’s Taco ‘Bout How Great You Are.” And on Friday, each teacher was gifted two free tickets to the Saturday Salt Lake Bees game at Smith’s Ballpark.
“The goal of Teacher Appreciation Week is to help our incredible teachers really feel the love,” explains Susannah Barnes, Director of Development. “We want them to know how truly valued they are.” Now is a good time for each of us to reflect on the teachers who have impacted our own lives, both in the classroom and beyond. And where possible, give them a heartfelt “thank-you.” Who was your favorite teacher?
