The Discovery Gala benefit dinner and auction was held on Saturday, November 16, 2019, at the St. Regis Deer Valley, where we celebrated the year 1969 – Woodstock, flower power, the Miracle Mets, and of course, the event of the century, the Apollo 11 Moon Landing!
Guests were greeted with champagne, appetizers, and the sounds of “The Faculty Banned” playing hit tunes from 1969. In the Foyer were over 100 items to browse and bid on in our Silent Auction, as well as a cocktail bar, selfie station, and Opportunity Drawing tickets. We moved into the Astor Ballroom at 7:30 for dinner and a program emceed by Nathan Florence. The Live Auction offered 8 one-of-a-kind opportunities and was followed by a general “paddle raise” to end the program. DJ Daryl took it away for the remainder of the evening as guests danced, socialized, and enjoyed the festive atmosphere until the wee hours.
A huge thank you to all who participated in this year’s Discovery Gala by attending, volunteering, donating, purchasing, and contributing in any way. We are profoundly grateful for all you do — you make the difference at WSD!
