Orchestra Teacher
WSD is seeking an orchestra teacher to teach strings in grades 4 – 8, to begin immediately. Responsibilities include large and small group instruction, music literacy, skill and technique development, concert preparation, and performance. Jazz band experience is a plus. Applicants should possess a current Utah teaching certificate with an endorsement in Music or a degree in Music Education, be knowledgeable in orchestra techniques and repertoire, be able to teach on multiple instruments, and be skilled in working effectively with this age group. Applicants must be able to work collaboratively and professionally with colleagues, administrators, and parents.
Individualized Special Education Aide
WSD is seeking a full-time Individualized Special Education Aide to work with a middle school student with physical disabilities, beginning immediately. Responsibilities include physical care as well as educational instruction, working closely with and under the direction of the Special Education Teacher and various support personnel. Full training is provided. Applicants should be ultra reliable, highly teachable, and physically able to lift approximately 40 pounds on occasion, if needed. Working professionally with teachers, parents, students and staff is expected. Experience is a plus. Background check and references are required. Pay begins at $20 per hour, position is benefits eligible.
Bus Driver
WSD is seeking a part-time bus driver to drive students from the Salt Lake or Kamas/Heber area to and from the school each day, morning and afternoon, as well as on field trips. Pay is $28/hour. Applicants must have a Class B CDL with school bus and passenger endorsements. Background check and references required.
Substitute Teachers
Substitute Teachers will be compensated as follows:
- With a current Utah teaching certificate: $140 per full day (over 4 hours), $75 per half day (4 hours or less).
- Without a current Utah teaching certificate: $125 per full day, $65 per half day.
Long-term substitute teachers are those who have taught for 15 consecutive days in the same assignment. After 15 consecutive days, a long-term substitute teacher will be compensated as follows:
- With a current Utah teaching certificate: $155 per day.
- Without a current Utah Teaching certificate: $140 per day.
