Stellar Spellers

The Spelling Bee is back! The Scripps National Spelling Bee has returned to Park City and WSD students are eager to participate. Students in grades 2 – 8 held classroom competitions, where students studied up to 450 words from a study list for a written spelling test. Top performers advanced to the school-wide spelling bee on February 14, where three Lower School students and three Middle School students emerged as top spellers and will now participate in a regional competition at the Jim Santy Auditorium in March.

Cora Hubler, Rey Edmunds, and Madeleine Huffmyer will represent WSD at the regional spelling bee as elementary students. Anthony Kondra, Palmer Jordan, and Sasha Kenlon will represent WSD at the regional spelling bee as middle school students. The overall winner of the regional bee will be invited to the prestigious Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington DC on May 28, courtesy of the Park Record.
