Make History!

As the state of Utah approached the one-year anniversary of the initial COVID-19 lockdown, a small and important art museum invited school children from around the state to help the students of tomorrow know what it was like to be a student in the year 2020. The Brigham City Museum of Art & History initiated the “Make History” campaign and asked K-12 students to contribute original drawings, essays, poetry, photography, journal entries, and other media that describe their lived experience during the past year. The student works, which will not be juried, are on display at the museum in April and May.

When the museum’s invitation came, WSD Lower School students immediately began putting their ideas into artwork, essays, and stories. Here are just a few selections from the student drawings that were submitted. The images speak for themselves.
