Personal Statement
In Utah, where many communities have rich cultural traditions and a deep appreciation for nature, I recognize the importance of connecting art instruction to local context. At Weilenmann, I emphasize integrating the region’s landscapes, seasonal changes, and wildlife into my curriculum, encouraging students to explore the world around them and express their perspectives through their artwork. Whether it’s using the state’s iconic red rock formations as inspiration for a landscape painting or learning to draw wildlife in our state, I believe in the power of art to connect students to their community.
