The Animal Project

Second grade students were eager to share their knowledge of wild animals – and in particular, endangered species – with friends and family at this year’s Animal Project Exhibition. They have been researching endangered animals and how we can help them since February, learning to use new research tools, and finding interesting facts about some of the world’s rarest – and most interesting – animals. For their exhibition, students created clay masks of their chosen animals, produced digital slideshows and informational brochures, made models of habitats, and created interactive games and activities. Visitors to the exhibition included parents and peers, who were invited to visit each animal “station,” ask questions, and learn more about the world’s endangered species from these second grade animal experts.
