The Secret Life of Birds

By Elizabeth Phillips, WSD Principal

WSD Kindergarteners took their learning to new heights during Outdoor Education. Equipped with binoculars and identification apps, these young explorers spent an entire afternoon in the wild, learning to identify local bird species, spot habitats, mimic bird calls, and understand the feathered friends that live in our own backyard! Proud to kick off the Ornithology unit in the Lower School Outdoor Program, our budding birders were serious about using the professional tools available to them to identify birds, analyze nesting habitats, and decode the unique songs and sounds of our local ecosystem.
