WSD PEAK Program

Where Academic Rigor Meets Personal Passion

At Weilenmann School of Discovery, we believe that a student’s education and their deepest passions should grow in harmony, not in competition. The WSD PEAK (Performance, Engagement, Access, Knowledge) Program is an intentional academic pathway designed for students in Grades 4-8 who are pursuing high-level commitments in athletics, the arts, or specialized disciplines.

By reimagining the traditional school day, we offer a program where high-quality education and elite training coexist, allowing students to reach their PEAK without sacrificing their well-being or their connection to our school community.

For Our Students: A Balanced Approach

  • Morning Core Academics: Students engage in their core subjects—English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies—during the morning hours when their focus and intellectual energy are at their best.
  • Meaningful Connection: Unlike homeschooling or isolated tutoring, our students remain full-time members of the Weilenmann community, participating in the social growth and school spirit that should define these years.
  • Credit for Excellence: Students will earn PE (or equivalent specialty) credit for their discipline, through documented training hours.

For Our Families: A Partnership

  • Sustainable Schedule: By integrating elite training into the school day, the strain of late-night practices and weekend catch-up sessions is reduced.
  • Transportation: To support our families, WSD provides mid-day transportation to local partner facilities, including the Park City Ice Arena, gymnastics centers, UOP and PCMR, ensuring a safe and seamless transition from the classroom to the field of play.
  • Intentional Pathway: The WSD PEAK Program is designed to bridge the educational gap between elementary and specialized secondary environments, such as the Winter Sports School or advanced arts programs.

The Program – A Hybrid Model

The WSD PEAK Program operates under an “Academics First” policy. We hold our student athletes / performers to high standards, ensuring that excellence in their chosen discipline is matched by achievement in the classroom.

Time Experience
Morning Campus-Based Learning: In-person core instruction at WSD.
After Lunch Midday Transition: Supervised transportation to approved training sites.
Afternoon Specialized Instruction: Training at partner facilities.
End of day Pickup: Parent-provided transportation home.
