WSD families and friends gathered for the 14th annual Spring Arts Festival and Fundraiser on May 23. The festival is a beloved tradition and our biggest on-campus event of the school year. In addition to showcasing student accomplishments in art and dance, the Festival raises important funds for the school. The student art show featured 2D and 3D works that aligned with curricular studies from each grade, supported by WSD’s partnership with the Beverley Taylor Sorenson Arts Learning Program. In the same space, guests browsed and bid on generously donated silent auction items and services.

The program was emceed by Nathan Florence, who once again brought his own flair to the festivities! The live auction of class art projects was interspersed with grade level dances from PreK to 8th grade, as well as performances from the “Faculty Banned,” and WSD’s 5th grade band, “Skrapz.” A surprise tribute to outgoing Executive Director, Steve Williams, included a musical performance and a parade and cheers by all the students.

Original student art work, music and dance performances, class art projects, and generosity went above and beyond. Many thanks to Susannah Barnes and her committee of parent volunteers for organizing the event, to students and teachers for their preparation and participation, and to our always supportive parent community for contributing to the success of this year’s Spring Arts Festival and Fundraiser.
