Middle School Science & Engineering Fair

Impressive displays were on exhibit at the Middle School Science & Engineering Fair, held on January 26. Students were excited to return to an in-person event where they could present research projects on a wide variety of topics. This year, students in 6th and 7th grades focused their research on Science topics, while 8th graders focused specifically on Engineering. Volunteer judges came from community members with backgrounds in Science and Engineering, who thoughtfully evaluated which projects should move on to the Salt Lake Charter Schools Science & Engineering Fair, held on February 4. In all, six 6th graders, four 7th graders, and two 8th graders were selected. Of these, 11 were chosen to participate in the University of Utah Science & Engineering Fair, to be held in March.

We had tremendous support from parents and are proud of what the students were able to accomplish, acknowledged Middle School Science teachers Roni Ottley and Karla Willis. Thank you, students and judges, for all your hard work!
