Middle School History Teacher
WSD is seeking a part-time History Teacher. Responsibilities include teaching courses that could include 6th grade world history, 7th grade Utah history and civics, and 8th grade US history. A current Utah teaching certificate / endorsement in secondary Social Studies is preferred. Applicants should have experience in the Middle School classroom, be comfortable in both indoor and outdoor classroom settings, and be able to work professionally and cooperatively with students, parents, and colleagues.
Middle School Language Teacher
WSD is seeking a part-time Middle School Language Teacher to teach either Latin or Spanish. Responsibilities include teaching beginning and intermediate language courses to grades 6, 7, and 8. A secondary teaching license, with the appropriate endorsement or a BA or higher in the language, is preferred. Applicants should have experience in the Middle School classroom, be comfortable in both indoor and outdoor classroom settings, and be able to work professionally and cooperatively with students, parents, and colleagues.
Fifth Grade Teacher
WSD is seeking a fifth grade teacher for the 2025-26 school year. Responsibilities include lesson preparation, large and small group differentiated instruction, student assessment, spending time in the outdoor classroom, and collaborating with a fifth grade team. Applicants should possess a Utah license and Elementary Education certificate and be able to work collaboratively and professionally with teachers, administrators and parents. Upper elementary classroom experience is preferred.
Substitute Teachers
Substitute Teachers will be compensated as follows:
- With a current Utah teaching certificate: $140 per full day (over 4 hours), $75 per half day (4 hours or less).
- Without a current Utah teaching certificate: $125 per full day, $65 per half day.
Long-term substitute teachers are those who have taught for 15 consecutive days in the same assignment. After 15 consecutive days, a long-term substitute teacher will be compensated as follows:
- With a current Utah teaching certificate: $155 per day.
- Without a current Utah Teaching certificate: $140 per day.
