Into The Woods With Weilenmann

Recently, we began what we hope will become a long-time tradition at WSD and something that aligns beautifully with our emphasis on outdoor learning. We call it “Into the Woods with Weilenmann” and it’s simply an invitation to our school community to hike together on local trails. Families and staff meet first thing in the morning at a trailhead, enjoy hot chocolate and a snack, and then prepare for a hike or snowshoe that is suitable for all ages, and dog friendly.

We have held two “Into the Woods” excursions so far, and hope to be able to plan future events roughly once a month. “‘Into the Woods With Weilenmann’ is a great chance to build community and get to know one another across grade levels,” explains Executive Director Steve Williams. “It is also a wonderful opportunity to welcome new folks into our community and explore these beautiful areas with them.”
