Carpool

Assist our families in creating their own carpools by organizing their information into geographical areas, provide list to front office and help create bag tags.

Library
Chair: Kathy Turner, librarian
Help catalog and shelve books, working directly with our librarian.

Lunchroom
Chair: Margo Fenton
Coordinate volunteer schedule to ensure at least 1-2 helpers each day at lunch using the Sign-up Genius program by sending emails/calls each Friday to verify volunteers for the following week.
*Volunteers will help serve lunch, oversee sorting of recyclable items, assist Middle School students with clean-up.

Reception Desk
Chair: Natasha Ferguson
Coordinate volunteer schedules to ensure help in the front office with Sign-up genius.
*Volunteers will answer the phones, retrieve attendance slips, assist with various clerical tasks.

Communications and Records

Directory

Create our student directory by working with Kevrine Wells, front desk. Usually, taken care of by the Communications & Records Chair.

Updates
Chair: Vicky Fitlow
Provide updates, volunteer opportunities, community events for inclusion in the PSTO email blasts.

Photography
Chair:
Take pictures and videos of school functions, students and faculty for use in the yearbook and year-end videos.

Volunteers
Chair:
Create various sign-ups as needed, follow up to fill vacancies for specific,short notice programs with small amount of time. i.e. Vision Screening and School Photo Days.

Welcome Committee

Chair, Michelle Powell

Welcome all new WSD families. Host periodic events for new families. Attend open house & speak with prospective families and give tours of the school.

Book Fairs
Chair: Kalisa Kent
Work with Kathy Turner, librarian, to coordinate two scholastic book fairs each school year. October 11,12 & 13, 2011 and March 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 2012.

Decorating Committee
Chair: Lannie Morgan
Help beautify our school! Decorate for each season in the foyer, front office and the classroom pods.

Fund Raising
Chair: Bessie McIntosh
Coordinate participation in various fund raising programs.

Parade
Chair: Michelle Mazzie
Find a trailer and vehicle for a float for the Miner’s Day Parade on Labor Day. Decide on t-shirt and float design. Coordinate volunteers to put it together.

Socials
Chair: Laja Thompson
Plan school wide parties! Includes assistance with Middle School mixer, Teacher Appreciation Week, Back-to-School and end of year events.

Spring Arts Festival
Chair: Kim Brown
Coordinate a fund raising event where each class provides an art project to be auctioned off. Each Parent Representative will help find a parent volunteer to decide upon and create art with the students. The Arts Festival will be held Friday, June 1, 2012.

Coordinate class photos and school photos for lower and middle schools.

Book Exchange

Encourage love of reading and sharing favorite books with schoolmates. All students to participate in a K-8 book exchange Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursday on November 8, 9 & 10.

Market Day

Assist Middle School students with preparing a business plan and selling their products at school (4) times a year. (October, December, February, April)

Recycling

Help our school and students promote green habits.

Science Sleepover
Chair: Andrea Phillips
Need to plan dinner, a midnight snack and breakfast for students and teachers for grades 4 & 5, under the direction of Mary Kimball.

Spirit Wear

Help build school spirit! Selecting, ordering, promoting school memorabilia and clothing.
