Literacy Week Book Orders

Literacy Week takes place during the week of January 23 – 27. Among the events planned will be two author visits on January 24. These authors will present to students in K – 8 and have agreed to do book signings following their presentations. A book order form to this effect will come home with students today. Orders must be received no later than January 11 to take advantage of this opportunity.

GOAP Student Pickup

Parents, when picking up your students from Get Out and Play, please remember to be prompt, courteous, and avoid parking along the red curb reserved for buses. Thank you!

Open House January 18

WSD will host another Open House on Wednesday, January 18 from 9 – 10:30am in anticipation of the 2012 – 2013 school year. This is another opportunity to spread the word to families and friends. WSD families have proved to be our best ambassadors!

Pre-registration for 2012-13

Pre-registration forms for the 2012-13 school year will come home with students today. Please complete and return forms by January 20.

NAC Teen Program

Colleen Oshier is offering an Equine Facilitated Teen Program through the National Ability Center in Park City. The 4-week program begins January 9 from 6 – 7:20pm. For more information, please see the NAC Teen Program flyer.

Bricks 4 Kidz

Bricks 4 Kidz will start a new 8-week session on Monday, January 9. The theme is “Space,” and is suitable for ages 6 – 11. Cost is $109. For more information, or to register, www.bricks4kidz.com

Robotics Team

The WSD Robotics team is gearing up for regional competition. Team members Max Davidson (6), Zina Horman (6), Eric Fisher (6), Paul Cox (5), Garrett McClellan (5), Dominick Isaacson (5) and Kipling McClellan (4) will compete in Lego robotics at Ecker Hill on January 14. Go, Robothunder!

Costa Rica Trip

Henry Ponnefz is offering a Spanish Trip during WSD Spring Break, April 7 – 15, open to students in grades 5 – 8, parents, siblings and friends. For more information, please see the Costa Rica Trip flyer.

Travel Clean Car Wash Fundraiser

Don’t forget to buy your car wash cards! Each card costs $35, and is redeemable for $35 in car washes at Travel Clean (located at Kimball Junction). If each student purchases just two cards, WSD will receive just under $20,000! Deadline to return the envelopes is January 27th.
